There is so much information out there on how to have beautiful skin and it can be quite daunting to figure out what works and what does not work. The good news is that you can have incredible skin within the next month by following these simple steps. The key is to be consistent with your skincare regime for best results.
Assess your skin type correctly:
Water is the elixir of life: The key to healthy skin is to get rid of toxins in your body. Drinking 8-10 glasses of water each day will help you to achieve this. Healthy skin comes as a result of looking after your body from the inside out.
Cleanse your skin with water: If your skin is particularly oily wash it with cool water regularly as this will prevent your pores from clogging up with oil.
Wash your face at least twice daily: You should wash your face morning and night for best results. This helps to get rid of oil and dead skin and keeps your skin looking young and healthy. Use warm water as this opens up the pores thereby allowing you to get rid of excess oil and debris. Once you have finished washing and exfoliating your skin, you should rinse with cold water to close your pores.
Keep hair away from your face where possible: Hair can transport dirt, dandruff and oil to your face so keep it tied back if possible. Try to keep it away from your forehead and sides of your face, this is especially important if you live an active life style such as running, gym and tennis or squash.
Give your face TLC every once in a while: Once in a while you can spoil your face to a mask treatment. Be careful not to overdo it as too much can also be bad for your skin. Mix honey, milk cream, oatmeal powder and ripe papaya into a fine paste and apply this to your skin. You can wash this off after 15 minutes with lukewarm water. You can also cleanse your face with buttermilk to give your skin that clean and radiant look. Sandalwood paste gives your skin great protection from the sun and is one of the best anti-ageing products known to man.
Do your best to keep your face and neck out of the sun as the sun causes premature ageing like nothing else on earth. If you are outside, wear a scarf or hat to offer extra protection to your face.
Prevent harm to your skin in the day by taking protective measures and treat your skin at night by applying a night cream to your face at night to help restore and rejuvenate your skin.
Beauty sleep is not a myth: Get 8 hours sleep a night if you want to look your best at all time. Moreover, you will be more energetic and productive the next day after a good night’s sleep.
Exercise regularly: Get active on a regular basis as it does wonders for your entire body and your skin. Try walking (briskly), jogging or some other form of formal exercise. There are even certain facial exercises that you can do to enhance the quality of your skin.
Pack on the mud masks: A good mud mask once a week will do wonders for your skin. There are cost effective mud masks that you can buy from your local store.
You should develop a holistic approach towards looking after your skin. This means exercising regularly, not using too much makeup and taking care of your skin regularly.
